PASSIONS OF THE FLESH

"THE PASSIONS OF THE FLESH are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery, idolatry and witchcraft, hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions, and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God." - Galatians 5:19-21

BAND: THE NELSUN, August 2025

This series of photographs represent the passion that the band NELSUN performs every time they take the stage. They perform their songs with a rage and a fiery debauchery that some would perhaps say is inherently sinful and unrighteous in nature. When titling this, I wanted to provide a challenge to the audience member viewing these photos: If the "passions of the flesh" are seen as sinful, does that mean that anyone who purses their passion becomes sinful, if we are to connotate the word "passion" with negativity? For the word "sin" can represent pain and hardship, but does the NELSUN look like they're in pain and hardship onstage? I leave that to the viewer to decide.
